how to match the environment with the needs of people with disabilities Table of contents bibliography

CONCLUSION

The Reference Guide and the Training Manual prepared with the financial support of the European Commission - Directorate General V E4 - are training tools which will be used with a public of professionals and future professionals involved in the area of tourism.

The modular approach that has been chosen is flexible and provides the possibility to use the full training or only parts of it according to the training needs expressed by the professionals.

The group of experts having worked on the preparation of the reference guide and the training manual is convinced that part of the training can be used with other target groups than tourism professionals only. For example, the part concerning awareness raising on disability issues can be used with all the professionals supposed to have contacts with people with disabilities, public and private organisations.

Apart from the fact that this work has been the starting point for a project of concrete training in the area of tourism, it will be partly used for a training of trainers in the framework of the European Youth Forum.

After the realisation of the Guides for the tourism industry, and the work done on the reference guide and the training manual, the group of experts is willing to go to the next step and offer its expertise for concrete training activities at European level.
