CONCLUSION

The group of experts that prepared this reference guide for training professionals in the area of tourism would like to see this work implemented within a concrete action.

A project proposal aiming to develop training material - books, videos, CD ROM - and to explore its use with tourism professionals and future professionals trained by people with disabilities, has been submitted to the European Commission managing the LEONARDO programme.

The WELCOME project aims at training tourism professionals and future professionals in the following countries: Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany and Poland. This project will therefore, if accepted, involve the current group of experts increased by the expertise of a German and a Polish organisations.

The innovative dimension of the project is mainly based on the fact that people with disabilities will be involved as trainers. An indirect benefit of this action will therefore be the creation of employment possibilities for people with disabilities in training or consulting activities.
